Former Cubs Hurler Garza Signs With Brewers

(Milwaukee, WI) -- Former Cubs pitcher Matt Garza is staying in the NL Central. The right-hander has agreed to a four-year contract with the Brewers. Garza went 10-and-6 with a  3.82 ERA last year for the Cubs and Texas Rangers. The 30-year-old missed most of the first two months with an injury.


Sox Give Ventura Extension

(Chicago, IL) -- The White Sox on Friday agreed to a multiyear extension with manager Robin Ventura. The 46-year-old has gone 148-176 in two seasons as skipper. Ventura spent 16 seasons with the White Sox primarily as a third baseman.
