Cubs One Of Five To Offer Tanaka A Deal

(Chicago, IL) -- The Cubs are reportedly one of five teams that have made an offer for right-hander Masahiro Tanaka. Japanese news service Nikkan Sports reports that the Yankees, Dodgers, Diamondbacks and White Sox are the others. All offers are said to be over six-years, $100-million.

 

Sox Avoid Arbitration With Beckham, De Aza

(Chicago, IL) -- The White Sox came to terms on one-year deals with second baseman Gordon Beckham and outfielder Alejandro De Aza on Friday, avoiding arbitration with both.  Beckham will earn $4.175-million in 2014. De Aza agreed to a pact worth $4.25-million.
