Cards, Radio Voice Reach Deal

(St. Louis, MO) -- Mike Shannon will continue to be the voice of the Cardinals for at least another two years. The 74-year old broadcaster signed a multi-year contract with the organization Monday, but the length of the extension has not been disclosed. Next season will be Shannon's 42nd behind the microphone for the Cards and his 56th year as part of the club. He helped the team win two world championships as a player from 1962 to 1970. .

White Sox, Viciedo Avoid Arbitration

(Chicago, IL) -- The White Sox have agreed to a one-year contract with outfielder Dayan Viciedo.  The $2.8-million deal avoids arbitration. The 24-year-old Viciedo hit .265 with 14 home runs, 23 doubles and 56 RBI in 124 games last season.

"A-Rod" Sues MLB, Union

(Manhattan, NY) -- Suspended Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez is filing suit against Major League Baseball and the Players' Association. "A-Rod" claims the MLB-appointed arbitrator who issued a 162-game drug suspension Saturday was not impartial and the union didn't fairly represent him.
