Cubs Make Wright Signing Official

(Chicago, IL) -- The Cubs officially have left-hander Wesley Wright in the fold. The 28-year-old has signed a one-year contract with the club. Wright has posted a 3.28 ERA over 168 relief outings in the last three seasons with the Rays and Astros.


Cardinals Finalize Deal With Ellis

(St. Louis, MO) -- Mark Ellis is the newest Cardinal. The Redbirds have finalized a one-year contract with the 36-year-old second baseman. Fox Sports reports the deal is worth $5.25-million, plus more than one-million in incentives. Ellis hit .270 with six home runs last season with the Dodgers.


White Sox Deal Reed To D'backs

(Chicago, IL) -- The White Sox are shipping closer Addison Reed to the Arizona Diamondbacks. In return, the Pale Hose will receive third base prospect Matt Davidson. Reed saved 69 games over the past two seasons as Chicago's closer. The 23-year-old Davidson made his big league debut in 2013.


Braves Officially Ink Gavin Floyd

(Atlanta, GA) -- The Atlanta Braves are officially signing White Sox free-agent pitcher Gavin Floyd to a one-year deal.  ESPN reports the pact is worth $4-million, including $4.5-million more in performance incentives. The 30-year-old Floyd pitched to a 4.22 ERA over seven years with the Sox.
