Teutopolis Lone Area Squad Winning Junior High Baseball Regional

Teutopolis Junior High School clinched its own Class 2A baseball regional championship Monday evening by blanking Altamont 15-0 in four innings.

T-town took a 4-0 lead in the second inning, tallied a single run in the third then brought home 10 runs in the fourth to end the contest.

The winners banged out 13 hits in the contest led by Cody Jansen with a single, double and an RBI, Lee Hardiek with two singles and an RBI, Ethyn Dust with a single and double and Landon Jansen with three singles.

T-town now advances to face Shelbyville Moulton Saturday in the Shelbyville Moulton Sectional at 11 a.m.

Class 3A Effingham Regional

Effingham Junior High School fell to Mount Zion in a tough 2-0 loss. Mount Zion pitcher Jonah Smith pitched a perfect game.

Brett Koester was the tough luck losing pitcher, allowing only one earned run and three hits.

Mount Zion advances to its own sectional Saturday against Rochester, a 4-0 winner over Chatham Glenwood in the Williamsville Regional.

 

Class 1A Findlay Okaw Valley Regional

Effingham St. Anthony saw its season come to a close with a 15-4 loss to host Findlay Okaw Valley.

Findlay Okaw Valley advances to the Raymond Lincolnwood Sectional Saturday at 11 a.m. to face either Mulberry Grove or Mount Olive.

 

Class 2A Sullivan Regional

Shelbyville Moulton blanked Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor 10-0 in five innings to win the Sullivan Regional championship.

Shelbyville Moulton took a 3-0 first inning lead, tallied two in the second and five in the fourth to end the game via the 10-run rule.

Stew-Stras/Windsor had four hits in the contest, by four different players. Stew-Stras/Windsor ends the season with an 11-6 record.
