North Clay (Louisville) picked up an 18-3 victory over Effingham Sacred Heart in junior high baseball action Monday.

The Cardinals took a 4-0 first inning lead behind 14 hits. Jordan Bloemer had two singles, a double and five RBI while Quincy Aldrich and Colt VanDyke had a single and a triple each. Aldrich drove in three runs while VanDyke had two.

Sacred Heart was led by Helmink with a single, triple and an RBI and Kruger with a double and two RBI.

Altamont claimed a run-shortened game over Dieterich 12-2 in baseball action Monday. The contest ended in the sixth due to the 10-run rule.

Runge picked up the pitching win on a seven-hitter. Runge also had two singles for the winners. Brown had two singles and a double while Schmidt had a single and double. Black had a single and a triple.

Radloff and Flach led Dieterich with two singles each. Dieterich drops to 5-6 on the seaon.

Shelbyville claimed a 7-2 win over Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor. Shelbyville broke a 2-2 fourth inning tie with a run in the fifth then tacked on four more in the sixth.

Gottfriedt picked up the pitching win on a five-hitter with two walks and 13 strikeouts.

Stew-Stras/Windsor was led by Kramer with two hits. Stew-Stras/Windsor drops to 10-5.
