T-town Drops A Games, North Clay Wins Title

Teutopolis dropped doubleheader A contests to Mount Zion and Olympia while capturing the B doubleheader in junior high baseball action Saturday.

In A competition, Teutopolis lost to Mount Zion 3-2. In the B contest, T-town was a 6-4 winner.

In the games against Olympia, T-town lost the A game 8-7 in extra innings but claimed the B contest 7-5.

Junoir Midland Trail Conference Tournament

North Clay (Louisville) captured the First Annual Junior Midland Trail Conference Baseball Tournament Saturday.

In semifinal round action, North Clay edged South Central 3-2 despite being outhit by South Central 5-3.

In the championship game, North Clay won over Cisne, scoring two runs in the first, fourth and sixth innings, to win the title. In the third place game, Noble beat South Central 8-5.

The win gives North Clay a 12-4 record.

Altamont edged Neoga in action Friday 6-5. Altamont had eight hits and scored the winning run in the eighth inning.

Runge had a double, triple, home run and three RBI for the winners while Schmidt had a single, double and an RBI.
