Brownstown/St. Elmo Down Dieterich in High School Baseball

Brownstown/St. Elmo edged Dieterich 5-4 in high school baseball competition Tuesday evening.

The Movin' Maroons held a 1-0 first inning lead but the Bombers came back with two runs in the second then tacked on a run in the fourth. Dieterich tied in the top of the sixth and took a 4-3 lead in the top of the seventh. But the homestanders came back with two runs on a walk-off double by Dalton Parks to claim the victory in the bottom of the inning.

Levi Maxey picked up the pitching win in relief of Jacob Behrends. Behrends aided his own cause with a single and double while Noah Flowers had three singles. It was the season-opener for Brownstown/St. Elmo.

Dieterich was led by Tanner Traub with two singles and Reid Shoemaker with a single and two RBI. The Maroons drop to 1-1.
