EJHS Runs Record to 2-0, S-S/Windsor Picks Up Victory

The Effingham Junior High School Mustangs ran their record to 2-0 by defeating Teutopolis, 11-1 in six innings Wednesday.

Four Effingham pitchers combined for a no-hitter while Kendall Ballman led the offensive attack with three singles and two RBI.

Also getting hits for the Mustangs were Nick Bishop with a single and double, Landon Wolfe, Lucas Hagler and Cooper Jackson with a single each and Adam Levitt and Ty Morrissey with an RBI each.

The Mustangs will be back in action today as they head to Bulldog Field to face crosstown rival St. Anthony at 4:30 p.m.

 

At Windsor

Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor took a 4-0 first inning lead then had to scramble back into contention and went on for a 12-5 win over Sullivan.

Sullivan came back with a five-run third to take the lead but S-S/Windsor knotted the score in the bottom of the frame then had a five-run fourth. Thies led the way with three hits and an RBI while B. Bennett, Kessler, Kramer and Quast had two hits each. Kramer had three RBI while Bennett and Quast had one each.

Stew-Stras/Windsor is back in action Saturday at Effingham Sacred Heart at 4 p.m.

At Neoga

In a game Tuesday, Neoga trounced Effingham Sacred Heart 13-1. Neoga took a 2-0 first inning lead then had an 11-run third. Andrews and Ramert had three hits each for the winners while Hill had two hits including a home run. Butler, Fritcher and Wood had two hits each.

Neoga is back in action hosting Mattoon today.
