TOMORROW'S STARS KHOURY LEAGUE

This one was a slugfest as Brown's Drug Store outlasted Elks Club 17-16 in league action at Community Park Thursday.

The score was tied at 4-4 after the first inning. Brown's took a 7-4 lead in the second but Elks Club came back to lead 9-7 after three. By the end of the fourth it was Elks Club 11-10. Elks pushed that lead to 16-10 in the top of the fifth but Brown's came roaring back with seven runs to pull out the victory.

Ben Thompson led the onslaught for Brown's with two singles, a triple, a three-run homer and finished with five RBI. Girhart chipped in with two singles, a double and three RBI while Schmidt had a double and an RBI.

Leading Elks Club was Kaleb Bolyard with three singles and five RBI and Cooper Bridges with a single, triple and two RBI.

In the second game, Taylor Law defeated South Central  FS 9-6. Taylor Law took a 1-0 lead in the second and came back from a 4-3 deficit with six runs in the fifth.

Both teams had eight hits. Taylor Law was led by Jakob Logan with a single, double, triple and an RBI and Dylan Evans with a double, triple and three RBI.

Brady Niebrugge led South Central FS with a double and two RBI while Edgar Castillo had a double and an RBI.

CAL RIPKEN LEAGUE

Kingery Printing blanked Northside Ford 13-0 in five innings during action at Community Park Tuesday evening.

Kingery stepped out to a 5-0 first inning lead and never looked back. Mitch Hemmen pitched a two-hitter. Chase Thies, Gavin Braunecker and Mitch Hemmen had a double each for the winners. Hemmen had two RBI while Braunecker and Thies had one each.

In the second contest, Arab Pest Control downed Arrow Pest Control 12-2 in five innings. Arab took a 1-0 lead in the first and tallied runs in every inning.

Luke Ungrund pitched the two-hit win. Arab was led in hitting by Andrew Wilkins with three singles and Nick Bishop with two singles and two RBI.

In games at Community Park, Mid-Illinois Concrete and Washington Savings Bank were winners.

Mid-Illinois Concrete beat Midland States Bank 11-1 in six innings. Noah Flowers pitched a no-hitter.

Kyle Smith had three singles and an RBI while Brent Beals had two singles and an RBI for the winners.

In the second contest,  Washington Savings Bank edged K. Wohltman Construction, 8-6. Kyle Peace picked up the four-hit win.

Austin Rexroad had the only extra base hit for Washington Savings with a double and two RBI. Derrick Moschenrose had the lone extra base hit for K. Wohltman with a triple and two RBI.

In games at Evergreen Hollow Park, Tingley Insurance and Teutopolis Falcons were winners.

In the opening contest, Tingley Insurance won over Effingham Asphalt 14-11 with a five-run final inning. Tingley had seven hits in the game led by Ryan Sandifer with a single and double and Adam Levitt with two singles and two RBI.

Alec Morrissey had a triple while Jason Devore and Wylie Napier had a double each for Asphalt.

In the second contest, Teutopolis Falcons edged Niemerg Construction 5-4. Niemerg held a 2-0 lead until the top of the fourth when the Falcons tallied three runs. Niemerg regained the lead in the bottom of the frame with two runs but the Falcons won with two runs in the top of the fifth.

Both teams had two hits each. Michael Deters and Collin Funneman had a single each for the Falcons. Funneman added an RBI while Braydon Will had two RBI. Tyson Magee led Niemerg with a triple.
