(Omaha, NE) -- Eric Filia was 2-for-3 with a two-run single to power UCLA in a 3-1 win over Mississippi State in Game One of the College World Series finals from Omaha. Pat Valaika went 2-for-4 and added an RBI single for the Bruins, who can clinch the title with a win on Tuesday night in the best-of-three series. Adam Plutko pitched six innings of one-run ball for the win while David Berg recorded a five-out save, setting the NCAA record for saves in a season with his 24th. C.T. Bradford drew a bases-loaded walk to drive in the lone run for the Bulldogs. Trevor Fitts was saddled with the loss after allowing a run in an inning-and-a-third of work. Mississippi State must win Game Two to force a deciding Game Three on Wednesday. Neither team has ever won the College World Series.
