Mets Rally For Win Over Cubs

(Chicago, IL) -- Daniel Murphy and Juan Lagares hit home runs to lead the Mets to a 4-3 come-from-behind win over the Cubs at Wrigley Field. Lagares hit his first major-league homer as the Mets captured two of the three games in the series. Bobby Parnell pitched the ninth inning for his third save of the week and sixth of the season. Cubs pitcher Travis Wood and Ryan Sweeney hit solo home runs for the Cubs. Kyuji Fujikawa took the loss to go to 1-1.

Howie Kendrick added two RBI and a run for Los Angeles, which won the final two games of this series to earn a split. Mark Trumbo scored twice in the win. Jason Vargas struck out six in seven innings of shutout ball for his third victory. Jake Peavy allowed four runs while striking out seven in six frames as he dropped to 5-2.
