1A, 2A Regional Championship Scores, Sectional Pairings

Here are the results of Saturday's 1A and 2A baseball regional championship games:

In 1A--

At Louisville, North Clay 8, Cumberland 0

At Moweaqua, Windsor 11, Neoga 1 (6 innings)

At Farina, South Central 4, Altamont 3

At Albion,

The pairings for the Cumberland 1A Sectional see South Central playing North Clay at 4pm Wednesday, followed by Windsor and the Albion/Hutsonville winner at 6:30pm Wednesday.

At Farina

South Central edged Altamont 4-3. The Cougars scored all three runs in the top of the first inning. Altamont tallied two in the bottom of the first then made a comeback bid in the bottom of the seventh, scoring one run but fell short.

Dylan Smith had a single, double and three RBI for the winners. His three-run double came in the first inning to get the Cougars off in the right direction.

Altamont was led by Ziegler, Goeckner and Borders with two hits each. Goeckner added an RBI.

At Kinmundy

At Assumption

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg jumped out to a 4-0 first inning lead and had a six-run sixth in ending the game via the 10-run rule over Neoga, 11-1.

Cole had two home runs and four RBI for the winners while Theis and Fulk hit a home run each and had two RBI. Vonderheide was the winning pitcher on an eight-hitter with two walks and nine strikeouts to improve his record to 8-1.

At Harrisburg, Harrisburg 5, Vienna 0

The pairings for the Teutopolis 2A Sectional see the Flora/Carmi winner taking on Teutopolis Wednesday at 4pm and then Shelbyville playing Harrisburg Wednesday at 6:30pm.

Teutopolis blanked the Lions of Marshall 8-0 scoring single runs in the first and fifth and six runns in the second. Pruemer picked up the one-hit pitching win, allowing three walks and striking out nine.

The Wooden Shoes had 11 hits, five of those for extra bases. Hardiek hit a solo home run while Smith and Probst had a double each. Probst picked up two RBI. Goldstein had a single, two doubles and an RBI while Pruemer contributed to his own cause with two singles and an RBI. Wenthe had a single and drove in three runs.
