Effingham St. Anthony didn't waste any time in claiming a 10-0 win over St. Elmo in high school baseball action Tuesday evening.

The Bulldogs stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead and ended the game in the fifth via the 10-run rule. Alex Hoelscher picked up the one-hit pitching win with three walks and 10 strikeouts.

Ben Hecht had a double and triple for the Bulldogs while Austin Bushur had two singles and a home run. Jacob Schuette chipped in with a single and double and Zach Gardewine added a double.

St. Elmo's lone hit came from Ben Davis with a single. The Eagles drop to 6-6.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis broke a 1-1 tie with a four-run sixth and downed North Clay (Louisville) 5-1.

The Wooden Shoes had eight hits in the contest by eight different players. The lone extra base hit was a double by Goldstein.

North Clay had five hits led by Cox with a double and a triple. Waldhoff pitched the victory with one walk and nine strikeouts.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg broke a 1-1 tie after two innings with a four-run third and went on for an 8-1 win over South Central to improve to 18-4 on the season.

Aaron White picked up the pitching win on a seven-hitter with one walk and four strikeouts. Gunner Theis had a single, double and an RBI while Ian Stremming and Hayden Cole had a single and two RBI each.

South Central was led by Austin Schwram with a single and a solo home run and Dan Diss with two singles.

Dieterich banged out 11 hits in downing Martinsville 13-3 in five innings Tuesday.

The Movin' Maroons jumped out to a 6-0 first inning lead and never looked back. Tanner Traub had a double and two RBI for the winners while Garrett Einhorn had three singles and three RBI. Alex Bohnhoff, Chris Lidy and Cole Hartke had two singles each. Hartke drove in two runs while Bohnhoff and Lidy had one each.

Altamont picked up an 11-2 victory over Ramsey in Tuesday action.

The Indians trailed Ramsey 2-0 after two innings then had a four-run third, tallied three in the sixth and four more in the seventh.

Ziegler had two singles for the winners while Goeckner had two singles and an RBI, Finn a double, home run and three RBI, Scholes a home run and four RBI and Kuhns two singles.

Neoga claimed an 8-2 victory over Newton in a non-conference contest Tuesday and the victory was Neoga Coach Ted Kerner's 300th career victory.

The Indians pushed their record to 15-4 on the season and Tyler Romack picked up the pitching win, striking out nine, for his fifth victory. Kenton Albin had a single and a double for the winners while Michael Baker and Logan Rankin had two singles each. Rankin had two RBI while Baker had one RBI.

Austin Rexroad pitched a four-hitter allowing no walks and striking out 14. Donovan Riley had two singles and two RBI to go along with four runs and two stolen bases. A.J. Miller and Rexroad had a single, double and an RBI each.

The Eagles improve to 2-5 on the season.
