The New York Yankees acquired Anthony Rizzo from the Chicago Cubs Thursday.

Rizzo, 31 years old, could become a free agent after this season ends. He's been with the Cubs for 10 years and has been hitting .248 with 40 RBI in 92 games along with 14 home runs this season.

The Yankees will send Alexander Vizcaino, a right-handed pitcher, and Kevin Alcantara to the Cubs. Both are minor leaguers. The Yankees also will receive around $5.5 million, which is the balance of Rizzo's $16.5 million salary.

Reportedly the Cubs will get infielder Nick Madrigal and Cody Heuerman, a right-handed pitcher. Madrigal had season-ending surgery with a torn hamstring bit is regarded as an up and coming young talent.

Now the Cubs are trading Javier Baez and Trevor Williams to the New York Mets
