The Chicago Cubs and San Diego Padres are set for a seven-player deal and the big names that are leaving the Cubs are Yu Darvish and Victor Caratini.

What are the Cubs getting? They will be receiving right-hander Zach Davis and four prospects. Davis is a six-year veteran in the Major Leagues with stints at Milwaukee and now San Diego.

Darvish, the runner-up for the National League Cy Young award in 2020, had a 2.01 ERA in 76 innings. Caratini was Darvish's personal catcher.

Davis is coming to the Cubs with a career-best 2.73 ERA. He had 63 strikeouts in 69 1/3 innings for the Padres.

Also coming to the Cubs are prospects that will help the team down the road and they include shortstop Reginald Preciado, outfielders Owen Caissie and Ismael Mena and shortstop Yeison Santana.
