Edwards County (Albion) edged North Clay (Louisville) 10-9 in high school baseball action Wednesday.
Edwards County took a 4-3 lead after two innings. The Cardinals came back to tie the score in the fourth but Edwards County had a big six-run fifth. North Clay battled back with a run in the bottom of the fifth, two in the sixth and two in the seventh but fell short.
Schuch picked up the pitching win going five innings, allowing five runs and seven hits. Schuch had two hits for the winners while Metcalf had two hits and two RBI and Lear a home run and three RBI.
North Clay was led by Hilderbrand with a single, double, home run and an RBI. Clifton had a single, home run and four RBI and Bailey a single and an RBI. North Clay is now 1-1 on the season.
