Woodlawn Beats St. Anthony, 9-4

Woodlawn handed Effingham St. Anthony a 9-4 high school baseball loss Wednesday.

The Cardinals stepped out to a quick 3-1 opening inning lead. Woodlawn's bats banged out 12 hits in the game as V. Eyke and H. Erglad were the top hitters. Eyke had two singles, a home run and an RBI while Erglad added three singles and two RBI. Lee stepped in with two singles and drove in three runs.

St. Anthony had seven hits and was aided by four Woodlawn errors but couldn't take advantage. Brody Niebrugge had a single, double and two RBI, Eli Moore a single, double and an RBI and Kennan Walsh a triple.

Lorenzini went 5.1 innings to pick up the win on the mound for Woodlawn. He allowed eight hits, four runs, four walks and struck out two.
