It had to be bittersweet for Coach Justin Fleener in Saturday's 2-1 loss to North Clay (Louisville).

Coach Fleener coaches the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes. But, Coach Fleener's son Logan, who plays for North Clay High School, hit a walkoff ground rule double with two outs in the bottom of the seventh that gave his Cardinals the victory.

T-town outhit North Clay by a 7-3 count and took a 1-0 lead in the second inning. North Clay tied in the bottom of the fourth.

Carson Burkett picked up the pitching win going 3.2 innings, allowing two hits and striking out one.

Brady Ingram had the other RBI for the Cardinals while Burkett and Holden Clifton had a single each. North Clay improved to 6-2.

T-town was led by Justin Hardiek and Luke Koester with two singels each. Koester had the lone RBI.

In Friday action, the Wooden Shoes blanked Neoga, 7-0.

T-town edged out to a 3-0 lead and held that until the sixth when the Shoes tallied four more.

The Shoes had 10 hits led by Justin Hardiek with a single, two doubles and four RBI, Evan Wermert with two singles, a double and an RBI and Matt Deters with two singles.

Neoga was led by Nate Lacy with a double.

Addis was the winning pitcher throwing a three-hitter with no walks and eight strikeouts to improve to 2-0.

After weekend action, T-town is now 8-3 on the season.

At Brownstown

South Central came calling and picked up a 4-2 win over Brownstown/St. Elmo in Friday action.

The Cougars had only four hits led by Chase Dodson with a home run and two RBI and Chase Thompson with two singles.

BSE had seven hits led by Brady Maxey with a single, home run and an RBI, Dalton Myers with a double and Francisco Viramontes with a double and an RBI.

BSE dropped to 0-5 in the National Trail Conference and 1-7 overall.
