Red Sox Fire Manager Alex Cora

The Boston Red Sox fired manager Alex Cora Tuesday, one day after MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred implicated him in baseball's sign-stealing scandal. Cora was the Houston Astros' bench coach in 2017 when they won the World Series, and when it's been found they were stealing signs via a centerfield camera and signaling players by banging a trash can. Manfred's report said Cora was among those who "originated and executed" the system, and strongly hinted he will receive tough punishment. 

 

Donaldson Agrees To Deal With Twins

Third baseman Josh Donaldson has agreed to a four-year, $92 million deal with the Minnesota Twins, according to media reports last night. The 34-year-old who was the 2015 American League MVP had a one-year contract with the Atlanta Braves last season aftter two straight seasons marred by injuries.
