In the National League, St. Louis' Mike Shildt took the honors after leading the Cardinals to the NLCS in their first postseason appearance since 2015. Shildt was just the third manager in history to reach the postseason without ever having played in the major or minor leagues.

The Minnesota Twins’ Rocco Baldelli was named American League Manager of the Year. Baldelli was the youngest manager in the majors and had never managed before leading the Twins to the AL Central title.

Astros Steal Signs

Several former Houston Astros players, including pitcher Mike Fiers, say that the allegations about the team stealing signs are true.
The sources claimed the Astros used a video camera positioned in the outfield at Minute Maid Park and a video screen in the home dugout to decode signs that were being used by the opposing team’s catcher.
