New York Mets slugger Pete Alonso hit his 42nd homer of the season Tuesday night to set a new team record with 31 games still remaining. Alonso also became the first rookie in 81 years to break his team's season home run mark.


Dodgers' Turner Appeals Suspension

Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner is appealing his one-game suspension and fine for making contact with home-plate umpire Rob Drake at the end of Monday night’s 4-3 loss to the Padres. Turner wasn’t in the lineup last night anyway as it was a scheduled day off.


D-backs' Peralta to Undergo Surgery

Arizona Diamondbacks left fielder David Peralta has decided to undergo season-ending right shoulder surgery. The decision comes after Peralta landed on the injured list for a third time this season and tried to play through the pain.
