Effingham picked up an 8-5 victory over Centralia in junior high baseball competition Monday.

Raddatz hit a home run and finished with two RBI for the Mustangs. He also picked up the pitching save. Verdeyen was the winning pitcher. Verdeyen singled, doubled and drove in a run. Lewis had a double.

At Effingham

At Greenville

Teutopolis traveled to Greenville and handed the homestanders a 10-0 loss in five innings of baseball action Monday.

The Wooden Shoes improved to 2-0 behind the no-hit pitching of T. Pruemer who went all five innings, allowing three walks and striking out 10.

The Shoes edged out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning then had a six-run third and finished out with a three-run fourth.

Pruemer had a double in the contest while E. Waldhoff and J. Niebrugge had two singles each. Niebrugge drove in two runs.

Jasper County pounded home 12 runs for a 12-0 win over Cumberland Monday.

The winners had 13 hits in the contest led by Wolf with a single and double, Nichols with a double and Neal, Flowers and Barthelme with two singles each.

Cumberland had one hit, a single by Jackson.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City blanked South Central, 4-0 in action Monday.

CHBC took a 1-0 lead in the third inning and tacked on three more in the fifth. CHBC had six hits, all singles by Carson Evans, Jaxon Manley, Gage Lorton, Wyatt Rueff, Layne Jones and Rylee Fisher.

Manley took the win on the mound, throwing a two-hitter.

Hits for South Central were from Montes and L. Bursott with a single each.
