Former Red Sox star David Ortiz took his first steps Tuesday after he underwent a second surgery in Boston on Monday night. Authorities in the Dominican Republic said Ortiz was ambushed by a man who shot him in the back at nearly point-blank range. Officials there say they have two people in custody.

 

Braves' Donaldson Suspended One Game

Atlanta Braves third baseman Josh Donaldson was suspended one game for his role in a bench clearing incident in Monday’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. However, Donaldson will appeal the suspension.
