EHS Falls To Highland, Neoga Beats WSS

HIGHLAND -- Effingham High School fell victim to Highland in baseball competition Tuesday, 3-1.

The Hearts took a 1-0 lead in the third inning but Highland came back with two in the fourth and one in the fifth.

EHS had four hits led by Jackson Lee with two singles.

Matthew Loy suffered the tough loss on the mound, going five innings, allowing three runs on six hits with one walk and five strikeouts.

The Hearts drop to 19-8 on the season.

At Windsor

Neoga came calling and captured a 4-1 victory over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Tuesday.

The Indians tallied two runs in the third and fourth innings. Neoga had six hits led by Isaac Walk with a double. Nate Lacy had a single and drove in two runs.

Windsor/Stew-Stras was led by Gavan Wernsing with a solo home run.
