The New York Mets’ Jacob deGrom won the National League Cy Young award despite winning just 10 games. That’s the lowest win total ever for a Cy Young winner, although he had an ERA of just 1.70.

On the American League side, Tampa Bay Rays left-hander Blake Snell took the Cy Young honors with a 21-5 record and a 1.89 ERA.


Indians, Pirates Pull Off Five-Player Trade

The Cleveland Indians and the Pittsburgh Pirates have pulled off a five-player trade. Cleveland sent infielder Erik Gonzalez and two minor leaguers to the Pirates for outfielder Jordan Luplow and infielder Max Moroff.

The Boston Red Sox have signed manager Alex Cora to a contract extension that’ll keep him with the team through the 2021 season, with a club option for 2022. Cora guided the Red Sox to a franchise-record 108 victories and the team’s fourth championship in 15 seasons.
