The National League’s West and Central divisions will be up for grabs today in one-game playoffs.

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Colorado Rockies will play for the West title and the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers will square off for the Central.

It’s the first time in baseball history two divisions will be determined by a one-game playoff.

The Cubs finished out the season Sunday with a 10-5 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.

St. Louis took a 2-0 first inning lead but the Cubs had a four-run third then a four-run fifth. It was a hitters paradise as the Cubs banged out 12 hits and St. Louis 11.

The Cubs went through nine pitchers while the Cardinals had seven.

Anthony Rizzo was on fire with two singles, two doubles and an RBI. Willson Contreras hit a single and a two-run homer. Kris Bryant had a double and two RBI, Ben Zobrist a triple and an RBI, Javier Baez a single and double and Daniel Murphy a double.

St. Louis was led by Patrick Wisdom with a single and double, Paul DeJong with a single, double and an RBI, Matt Carpenter with a double, Francisco Pena with a double and Carlos Martinez with two singles.

Scioscia Steps Down As Manager of Angels

Mike Scioscia stepped down as the manager of the Los Angeles Angels following yesterday’s season-ending win over the Oakland A’s.  Scioscia was the longest current tenured manager in the majors at 19 years and guided the Angels to their only World Series title in 2002.

Royal's Manager Will Return

Despite having their worst season since 2005, the Kansas City Royals say manager Ned Yost will return next year. The team signed Yost to a one-year extension yesterday before the season finale against Cleveland.
