The Milwaukee Brewers edged the Chicago Cubs 3-2 Monday to pull within one game of the Cubs in the National League Central Division race.

The Cubs suffered a scare when starter Jon Lester left in the sixth inning with lower back spasms. Lester said he would be alright for his next start.

Jose Quintana takes the hill for the Cubs tonight at Wrigley Field.

Adam Wainwright returned to the mound for St. Louis for the first time in four months and kept things close enough that the Cardinals came back late for an 8-7 win on Matt Adams' three-run home run.

The Cardinals maintained one of the NL Wild Card berths and moved within 3-1/2 games of the Cubs with the win.
