JH Baseball from Tuesday 9/4

Mattoon defeated Effingham 7-1 in junior high baseball Tuesday.

The Mustangs were held to one hit, that by Raddatz. Effingham scored its only run in the seventh inning.

A. Donaldson took the loss, going five innings and allowing five of the runs, four earned. Hull pitched the final inning and gave up two runs, one earned.

Effingham is now 8-6 on the season, 2-1 in conference play.

St. Anthony and Charleston played to a 10-10 eight inning tie Tuesday.

St. Anthony scored four runs each in the first and fifth innings and two runs in the sixth, but Charleston scored six runs in the fourth, three in the fifth and a run in the sixth. Hoene and Roepke pitched for the Bullpups; Hoene went 3-1/3 innings, Hoene 4-2/3 innings. Hoene gave up six runs, Roepke the other four runs.

At the plate for St. Anthony: Sehy had two singles and two walks and scored a run; Wines walked twice, scored a run and drove in a run; Hoene had two singles and drove in two runs; Levitt doubled; Roepke walked three times; Walsh singled and walked and drove in a run; Adams doubled and scored three times; Wegman walked; Jansen scored and drove in a run; Koenig singled, scored and drove in a run; Westendorf scored a run; Flach scored two runs

Teutopolis defeated Sullivan 17-4 in a five-inning game Tuesday. Niebrugge, Lustig and Roepke each pitched for the Wooden Shoes, striking out a total of seven batters; at the plate for Teutopolis: Bloemer singled, walked twice, scored twice and drove in a run; Schwerdt doubled and singled, scored a run and drove in two runs; C. Siemer doubled and singled, walked, scored a run, and drove in two runs; the other C. Siemer scored a run; Niemerg tripled an walked twice, scored three times and drove in a run; Niebrugge scored twice and walked; Goeckner doubled and walked and drove in two runs; Hanson scored a run; Runde singled and scored and drove in a run; Lustig walked and scored and drove in a run; Mette walked; Roepke homered and singled and walked, scored three times and drove in four runs; Thompson scored a run

In a "B" game, Teutopolis pounded Oblong 24-9 in a six-inning game. Pruemer, Kreke and Deters teamed up for the pitching win. Pruemer had three hits and drove in four runs, Deters and Jansen each had three hits; Niebrugge, Runde and Jansen each had two hits; Hille, Stewart and Althoff each had a hit; Pruemer's hits included a home run

Sacred Heart defeated CHBC 10-0 in six innings Tuesday. Biggs pitched a no-hitter for the Shamrocks. For Sacred Heart, Boyajian doubled and singled and drove in a run; Lohman doubled and walked and drove in two runs; McDevitt doubled, walked twice and drove in two runs; Biggs singled, and walked three times; Jenson singled, walked twice and drove in two runs; Wallace walked and scored; Hurron walked, scored and drove in a run; Sparks singled and walked, scored and drove in a run; Karolewicz singled twice, scored twice and drove in a run
