AL Wins All-Star Game as 10 HRs Go Out Of Park

WASHINGTON -- The American League beat the National League 8-6 in 10 innings Tuesday night to win the Major League Baseball All-Star game.

It was the sixth straight win for the American League in a game that had a record 10 home runs. The Houston Astros’ Alex Bregman was named MVP

Chicago Cubs' Willson Contreras provided the first run for the National League and the first hit when he went to the plate and knocked out the first pitch from Chris Sale over the centerfield fence. The Cubs' Baez also had a hit with a single.

Other home runs for the National League included a two-run blow by Cincinnati's Scooter Gennett who hit it in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game and teammate Joey Votto who hit a solo homer in the bottom of the 10th. Colorado Rockies' Trevor Story hit a shot in the seventh to tie the score at 2-2 and Milwaukee's Christian Yelich hit one in the eighth.

For the American League, Houston Astros' Alex Bergman and George Springer hit back-to-back homers in the top of the 10th.

New York Yankees' Aaron Judge nailed a solo shot in the second to start the scoring for the AL and Mike Trout a solo homer in the third for the Los Angeles Angels to give the AL a 2-0 lead. The Mariners' Jean Segura hit a three-run shot in the top of the eighth inning, with Shin-Soo Choo and George Springer scoring to make it 5–2.  


Orioles To Trade Machado

The Baltimore Orioles reportedly have a deal in place to trade All-Star shortstop Manny Machado to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Details are expected to be announced today.
