CHICAGO -- Willson Contreras decided he'd have his own fireworks for the Fourth of July when he hit a tie-breaking home run as the Chicago Cubs beat the Detroit Tigers, 5-2 Wednesday at Wrigley Field.

Not only did Contreras knock out a home run, he also had a two-run double and the Cubs picked up their sixth straight victory.

The comeback win was the 26th for the Cubs this season as they lead the Major Leagues.

Javier Baez stole home in the fourth inning for his second steal of home this season and that tied the contest at 2-2. Speaking of home runs, David Bote knocked out his first home run with two outs in the second that tied the game at 1-1.

Jose Quintana claimed the pitching win on the mound, allowing five hits.

Cardinals 8, Diamondbacks 4

PHOENIX -- Tommy Pham is definitely back on the hitting track. Pham had three hits and those came with runners in scoring position.

Pham had a fifth-inning single and then in the seventh, he came behind Yairo Munoz's home run with a go-ahead single. Yadier Molina then banged out a three-run homer as the Cardinals scored five runs. Molina has now caught Ted Simmons for 15th place on the Major League Baseball all-time list with 1,771 games caught.

Pham hit a run-scoring double in the eighth inning and that was his first three-hit game in almost seven weeks.

Miles Mikolas went six innings on the mound allowing four walks. He stranded eight runners over the first four innings. He improved to 9-0 and five of those have come on the road. He has an ERA of 2.63 through his 16 starts.
