PHILADELPHIA -- Yadier Molina is trying his very best to give the St. Louis Cardinals wins. Unfortunately, the pitching staff continues to suffer as Michael Wacha left the game early with an injury. And, the Cardinals fell to the Philadelphia Phillies 4-3 at Citizens Bank Park Wednesday.

Wacha left with head trainer Adam Olsen after allowing a two-run homer to Cesar Hernandez in the fourth. He exited the game due to left oblique tightness and will undergo an MRI today.

That wasn't the only injury as Jose Martinez jammed his left shoulder during a set-to at first base in the seventh and Mike Mayers, who replaced Wacha in the fourth, was hit on his pitching hand.

Molina produced a solo home run in the second and hit a two-run shot in the fifth. Odubel Herrera hit the go-ahead homer in the seventh for the Phillies.

The Cardinals had the tying run in scoring position in the eighth and ninth but Edubray Ramos got out of the jam in the eighth and Adam Morgan fought off the Cardinals in the ninth.

Cubs 4, Dodgers 0

Jon Lester threw seven good innings and was aided by the Chicago Cubs defense in the 4-0 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers Wednesday.

Lester improved his record to 9-2 by winning his fifth straight and has an ERA of 1.58 in his last 10 starts. He went seven innings and threw 119 pitches, walked three and struck out one.

The Cubs came up with some good defensive plays as Javier Baez had an unassisted double play while rightfielder Jason Heyward nailed Chris Taylor attempting to score in the third. Baez also came up big with a throw from deep in the hole to rob Logan Forsythe of a hit.

Baez had two doubles, a triple and a steal in the game. Kyle Schwarber knocked out his 14th home run of the season. Kris  Bryant added two hits and an RBI.

The Cubs placed closer Brandon Morrow on the 10-day disabled list and Yu Darvish threw a simulated game and the Cubs will see how he feels Thursday before announcing the next step.

Phillie's Phanatic Hits Woman With Hot Dog

The Phillie Phanatic scored a hit during Monday night’s game. The Phanatic was launching hot dogs into the crowd when one nailed a woman in the face.

Kathy McVay underwent a CT scan to make sure she didn't have a concussion, but says she doesn't plan legal action, Kathy said she has a small hematoma in her eye and the Phillies have apologized and offered her tickets to a future game.
