CHICAGO -- Jason Heyward knocked out his first career walk-off home run as the Chicago Cubs handed the Philadelphia Phillies a 7-5 loss at Wrigley Field Wednesday.

With two outs and the bases loaded in the ninth inning, Heyward connected on an Adam Morgan pitch and gave the Cubs a come-from-behind victory. The Cubs trailed 5-3 in the ninth when Kyle Schwarber drew a walk. With one out, Schwarber went to second on an error by catcher Jorge Alfaro who was attempting to pick off Schwarber on first. Albert Almora Jr. followed with a single and Ian Happ drew a walk to load the bases. Schwarber was forced out at home on Ben Zobrist's grounder. Then it was time for Heyward's grand slam into the right field bleachers.

Cory Mazzoni earned his first big league win in relief. Jose Quintana struck out a season-high 10 batters and left the game with a 3-0 lead.

Marlins 11, Cardinals 3

St. Louis' starter Jack Flaherty struggled and Yairo Munoz had three errors at shortstop as the Cardinals dropped an 11-3 loss to the Marlins Wednesday at Busch Stadium.

Flaherty allowed six runs on eight hits and a walk with six strikeouts.

The Cardinals gave up three runs in the third inning. Derek Dietrich nailed a two-run homer and J.T. Realmuto scored on a fielder's choice. The Cards pulled within 3-2 when Jose Martinez hit an RBI double and Munoz had a sacrifice fly.

But the Marlins scored three more runs in the fifth to stretch their lead to 6-2.

The bullpen struggled after Flaherty's exit. Brett Cecil allowed two runs and Preston Guilmet allowed two more runs in the seventh. The Cardinals sent infielder Jedd Gyorko to the mound for his first career pitching appearance in the ninth and he allowed a home run to Lewis Brinson.
