ST. LOUIS -- Bud Norris did not allow a run in the ninth but the 10th was a different story as the St. Louis Cardinals' relief pitcher gave up three runs as the Kansas City Royals won 5-2 Wednesday.

Drew Butera hit a single that scored the go-ahead runs. Jon Jay then provided an insurance run with a hit off Brett Cecil. Norris fumbled  a sacrifice bunt that loaded the bases for the Royals with no outs. He threw to third instead of first.

The Cardinals bullpen continues to struggle. Michael Wacha started the contest and went 6 2/3 innings, allowing just two runs, one of those earned, on four hits.

St. Louis scored two runs in the bottom of the second on a Harrison Bader RBI groundout and Francisco Pena's RBI double.

Indians 1, Cubs 0

CHICAGO -- On Wednesday night, John Lester did what he could for the Chicago Cubs. He gave up only one run on a single by Michael Brantley in the third. But he kept the Cleveland Indians off balance from there on out.

He scattered six hits over seven innings. But his counterpart, Cleveland's Adam Plutko, captured the 1-0 victory by going six innings without allowing a hit. He lost the no-hit bid in the seventh in only his second big league start. He finished with four walks and four strikeouts.

The hit for the Cubs came from Anthony Rizzo who led off the inning with a double. But Andrew Miller came on in relief of Plutko and managed to get out of the frame unscathed.

Both of Lester's losses have come against Cleveland. Lester has given up two or fewer runs in five straight starts.

White Sox Catcher Suspended

Chicago White Sox catcher Welington Castillo will reportedly be suspended 80 games for performance-enhancing drug use. An official announcement from Major League Baseball is expected to be made today.

Dykstra Arrested Wednesday

Former baseball star Lenny Dykstra was arrested early Wednesday morning in New Jersey after allegedly pulling a gun on an Uber driver and threatening to kill him.

Police didn’t find a gun on Dykstra, but did say he was in possession of cocaine and ecstasy at the time of his arrest on charges of making terroristic threats.
