The St. Louis Cardinals say catcher Yadier Molina has undergone surgery and is expected to miss a month after a very painful injury.

Molina was placed on the disabled list Sunday with a "pelvic injury with traumatic hematoma" after being hit in the groin by a foul tip.

But the Cardinals kept on track despite the emotional news about Molina with a 4-3 victory over the Chicago Cubs in the 14th inning.

Dexter Fowler came back to bite the Cubs with a two-run homer in the 14th for the Cardinals fifth straight win and a sweep of the Cubs. Fowler was 0-for-5 going into the at-bat in the 14th. With two outs and two strikes on him, Fowler hit a line drive home run off Luke Farrell. The home run just missed Jason Heyward's glove in right field

Dodgers Place Kershaw on Disabled List

The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed pitcher Clayton Kershaw on the 10-day disabled list with left biceps tendinitis. Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts said Kershaw got hurt before Saturday’s game against San Diego.
