CHICAGO -- Trayce Thompson had his home run shoes on Thursday and it was a good thing. Thompson sent one out of the park with two out in the ninth that gave the Chicago White Sox a 6-5 win over the Minnesota Twins.

Thompson nailed his home run off Addison Reed, a former White Sox reliever.

The Twins had a 5-1 lead in the fourth inning as Logan Morrison hit a two-run homer.

The White Sox came back with a two-run homer by Daniel Palka in the bottom of the fourth. Then it was Yolmer Sanchez who singled home Omar Narvaez in the fifth and the Sox tied in the sixth as Jose Abreu came home on an error.

Mariners Release Suzuki

The Seattle Mariners have released 44-year-old Ichiro Suzuki, who will take on a front office role with the team. However, a statement from the team mentions nothing about his retirement and Suzuki apparently hasn’t closed the door on playing again.
