T-town, Cumberland Nab Baseball Wins

Teutopolis broke a 1-1 tie with a five-run fourth to claim a 6-1 victory over Nokomis in baseball action Wednesday.

Cody Jansen banged out two home runs in the game and finished with three RBI for the Shoes. Drew Thoele had a single and double while Evan Althoff had two singles. Lee Hardiek drove in two runs with a single.

Clint Weber picked up the pitching win, going six innings, allowing seven hits, one run, two walks and striking out five.

The Shoes improve to 17-5 while Nokomis drops to 13-2.

Salem came to town and took off to a 13-7 win over South Central Wednesday.

The Wildcats held a 10-3 lead after two innings and finished with 13 hits in the contest.

The Cougars were led by Ryan Matheny with a home run and three RBI and Ryan McCown with two singles.

Greenville started off with a single run in the third and Altamont tied in the top of the fifth. But Greenville came back with a four-run bottom of the fifth and went on for an 8-1 victory.

Altamont had three hits in the contest led by Alek Biggs with a double.

Charleston went 10 innings before edging Neoga, 6-5 in action Wednesday.

Neoga held a 2-0 lead after four innings and led 5-2 after six. Charelston then tallied three in the bottom of the seventh to tie the score at 5-5. The Trojans then tallied the winning run in the 10th.

Evan Fritcher had a double, home run and three RBI for the Indians. Drew Ramert had a single and double.

Cumberland blanked Hutsonville/Palestine to the tune of 10-0 in action Wednesday. The game ended in the fifth inning.

The Pirates had 10 hits to go with the 10 runs. Justin Brown had a single, two doubles and three RBI while Brennyn Cutts added two singles and three RBI, Brayson Shew with a double and an RBI and Dayton Mitchell with a home run and three RBI.
