DIETERICH -- Dieterich High School took the early lead and never looked back in a 10-3 victory over North Clay (Louisville) in baseball action Monday.

The Movin' Maroon had 12 hits in the contest led by Briar Schmidt with two singles, a double and three RBI, Bryce McClain with three singles and an RBI and Callaway Campton with a single, triple and an RBI.

Paul Thoele went all seven innings on the mound, allowing six hits, three runs, two walks and striking out 10.

North Clay was led by Quincy Aldrich with a home run and three RBI, Tyson Jones with a single and double and Briar Repking with two singles.

At St. Elmo

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg edged St. Elmo/Brownstown 5-4.

BSE held a 3-0 lead until the sixth when the Hatchets took a 4-3 lead and moved that to 5-3 in the top of the seventh. SEB made a comeback bid in the bottom of the frame, scoring a run, but fell short.

Logan Greuel had a solo homer for the Hatchets while Ben Beck had two singles and two RBI and Isaac Kramer two singles.

BSE was led by Caleb Atwood with two singles and two RBI, Bryton Pruett with a double and Nate Philpot with two RBI.

At St. Elmo

At Neoga

Neoga pounded Ramsey 14-4 in five innings Monday.

The Indians trailed Ramsey 2-1 after the first inning then had a three-run third, a single run in the fourth and ended the game with nine runs in the fifth.

Caleb Hill had a single, double, home run and four RBI. His three-run homer was his 100th hit for Neoga. He is currently sixth on Neoga's career hit list since 2003. He needs six hits to tie Riley Walk for fifth place on the list. Neoga's career hit leader over the span is David Massengill with 123 hits from 2005-08.

Other big hitters for Neoga were Lane Andrews with three singles and an RBI, Evan Fritcher with a double, home run and an RBI and Lanham with a single and double.

Cumberland had only one hit in the game but pulled out a 2-1 win over Oblong Monday.

The two teams were scoreless through the first three innings. Oblong took a 1-0 lead in the fourth. The Pirates then tallied two in the seventh to pull out the win.

Bryson Cutts had the lone hit with a single for the Pirates.

At Paris

Newton fell to Paris 13-3 in five innings Monday.

The Tigers held a 7-0 lead until the fourth when Newton tallied its three runs. The Tigers then had a three-run bottom of the inning and three more in the fifth to end the contest.

Newton's Frohning had a home run and two RBI.
