LOUISVILLE -- North Clay (Louisville) played host to Effingham Sacred Heart in junior high baseball action and blanked the Shamrocks 15-0 in four innings Monday.

North Clay edged out to a 3-0 first inning lead and broke the game open with a 10-run third.

The winners had 12 hits led by Ingram with three singles, Weidner with a single, double and two RBI, H. Dawkins with a single, double and five RBI and Clifton with a home run and four RBI.

Griffy went two innings, allowing no hits, one walk and striking out two for the win. Clifton came on to throw the final two innings, allowing no hits, no walks and striking out five.

At Casey

Casey-Westfield took a 4-1 first inning lead and went on to beat Effingham 9-5 in action Monday.

The Mustangs trailed 7-2 then had a three-run third to pull within 7-5 but Casey-Westfield tacked on two more runs in the sixth.

Budde had a single, double and an RBI while Matteson had two doubles and Perry a double and an RBI for Effingham. The Mustangs drop to 5-12.

At Cowden

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City evened its record at 10-10 with a 10-3 win over Newton St. Thomas Monday.

Radloff led the way for the winners with four singles in four at-bats. Schlanser added a single and double while Hilvety-Southard and Robertson had two singles each and Buzzard had a triple.

Bierman led St.Thomas with two singles and Schafer added a double for their three hits.
