Funneman Throws No-hitter in T-town Win, Area Baseball Roundup

Teutopolis High School's Collin Funneman threw a no-hitter as the Wooden Shoes downed Mulberry Grove 11-0 in baseball action Thursday.

Funneman went all seven innings, allowing no hits, two walks and striking out 13.

Meanwhile, T-town banged out 13 hits as 12 players got a hit. Ungrund had two singles and an RBI to lead the way. Dust and Thoele had a double each. Dust added an RBI. Jansen had a single and drove in two runs.

The Shoes improve to 7-1 on the season while Mulberry Grove drops to 1-3.

T-town is back in action Saturday at Millikin University against North Clay (Louisville) at 10 a.m. and Putnam County at noon.

Altamont handed Ramsey a 13-3 loss in action Thursday.

Ramsey held a 2-1 first inning lead but the Indians moved ahead 4-3 in the third then tacked on three in the fifth, five in the sixth and one in the seventh.

Vaughn picked up the pitching win, going 4.1 innings, allowing one hit, no walks and striking out five.

The Indians had 14 hits with eight of those doubles. Whitt had three doubles and three RBI while Kuhlman had two doubles, Teasley two doubles and an RBI, Biggs two doubles and two RBI, Stuemke a double and two RBI and Pemberton a double and an RBI.

South Central pounded home 13 runs and banged out 10 hits in a 13-3 win over Cisne Thursday.

The Cougars' Brandt went all seven innings, allowing seven hits, three walks and striking out eight.

Blomberg and Brandt had three singles each. Brandt knocked in four runs and Blomberg had three RBI. Roberts had a single, triple and an RBI.
