T-town Blanks Neoga in Baseball

TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis High School took a 3-0 first inning lead and went on to blank Neoga 10-0 in five innings of baseball action Thursday.

The Wooden Shoes had 11 hits in the contest led by Goeckner with two singles, a double and an RBI, Hardiek with two doubles and two RBI, Althoff with a single, double and an RBI and Dust with a double and two RBI.

Neoga was led by Andrews and Butler with two singles each.

Collin Funneman picked up the pitching win, going four innings, on a six-hitter with two walks and four strikeouts.

T-town improves to 2-1 while Neoga drops to 0-2. The Shoes will play host to a tournament Saturday. In the 9 a.m. contest, T-town will take on North Clay (Louisville) at 9 a.m. while St. Anthony meets Dieterich at 11. The losers square off for third place at 1 p.m. while the winners meet for the championship at 3.
