Shelby Co., Charleston Split Doubleheader

CHARLESTON -- Shelby County Junior Legion Posts 289-611-725 and Charleston Post 93 split a doubleheader in action Tuesday.

Shelby County won 4-0 behind the no-hit pitching of Kentrell Beck, Camden Coleman and Samuel Hagerman. Beck went two innings and picked up the win, allowing one walk and striking out five. Coleman threw two innings, allowing one walk and striking out one. Hagerman finished out with an inning, allowing one walk and striking out two.

Beck had a single, double and drove in a run while Dalton McGill and Hagerman had a double each. McGill drove in one run and Hagerman drove in two.

In the other contest, Charleston was a 10-2 winner. Charleston took a 3-0 first inning lead then tacked on three more in the second and four in the third. Shelby County had single runs in the third and fourth.

Shelby County had five hits with doubles by Beck and Aaron Kirby. Beck had an RBI.
