Shelby County Junior Legion Squad Splits Two Games at Greenville Tournament

The Shelby County Junior Legion team split two games Saturday at the Greenville Tournament.

Shelby County defeated Alton 3-1, but lost to Decatur Pride Black 7-0.

Colten Reed got the win over Alton with Samuel Hagerman picking up the save. Reed pitched 6-2/3 innings, allowing one earned run on three hits while walking two and fanning six. Hagerman gave up a hit then secured the final out.

At the plate for Shelby County: Colten Reed--two singles, run scored; Dalton McGill--double, 2 RBI; Samuel Hagerman--single; Carson Rece Pullen--single, run scored; Isaac Walk--hit by pitch, run scored

In the loss to Pride Black, Shelby County mustered just four hits, all singles. Camden Coleman had two of the hits, with Samuel Hagerman and Carson Rece Pullen picking up the other two.

Coleman took the loss, allowing six earned runs on seven hits in three innings of work, walking two and striking out two. Dalton McGill threw an inning, allowing one earned run on one hit and two walks. Pullen pitched the final inning, walking one batter and fanning one hitter.
