Effingham Post 120 Comes From Behind To Win, Dieterich Beats Fairfield

Effingham Post 120 tallied three runs in the bottom of the seventh to pull out a 3-2 victory over Olney Post 30 in Senior Legion baseball action Wednesday.

Olney Post 30 took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning then tacked on a second run in the top of the seventh to lead 2-0.

Kendall Ballman led off the bottom of the seventh by drawing a walk. Brett Koester then doubled and runners stood at second and third. Bryar Jansen followed with a single scoring Ballman. Cody Grove drew a walk to load the bases. The rally continued as Bryce Lohman singled in Koester and the score was tied at 2-2 with the bases still loaded.

Olney pitcher Gage Miller then gave up a walk to Austin Kline and that gave Post 120 the 3-2 victory.

B. Koester finished with a single and double while Jansen had two singles and an RBI.

At Dieterich

Dieterich Junior Legion handed Fairfield a 2-1 loss in action Wednesday.

The two squads scored a run each in the third. Dieterich came back with the game-winner in the fourth.

Dieterich had four hits, all singles by Flach, Hunzinger, Bohnhoff and Hartke. Driving in runs were Will and Hunzinger.

Flach was the winning pitcher, going all seven innings, allowing one run, seven walks and striking out three.
