T-town, Altamont, Newton Claim Regular Season Wins

TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis High School edged Paris 7-6 in regular season baseball action Monday.

The Wooden Shoes took a 2-0 first inning lead and led 6-0 after two. But the Tigers came back with a five-run fourth and tied the score in the fifth. T-town then tallied the winning run in the bottom of the sixth.

Hartke and Wendt had a single, double and an RBI each for the Shoes. Kenter had a home run and three RBI. Brant Bueker, Brock Bueker and Jansen had a double each. Bueker added an RBI.

The Wooden Shoes improve to 24-6 while Paris dropped to 26-5.

At Altamont

Altamont tallied a run in the bottom of the seventh to pull out a 4-3 win over Flora Monday.

Flora took a 1-0 lead in the third and pushed that to 2-0 in the top of the fourth. But Altamont moved ahead 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth. Flora then tied the score in the sixth.

Altamont had seven hits, all singles by Pemberton, Biggs, Robbins, Kopplin, Kuhlman, Vaughn and D. Miller. Pemberton,  Biggs, Kopplin and Kuhlman had an RBI each.

Newton came calling and ended the game in the fifth via the 10-run rule, 13-3 over South Central.

The Eagles tallied three in the first, seven in the third and three in the fourth.

Newton had 16 hits led by Geier and Wagy with two singles and a home run each. Wagy had five RBI while Geier had three. Meinhart and Weber had a single and a double each. Weber added an RBI. Britton had two singles and an RBI and Grunloh had two singles.

Geiler led South Central with a solo home run while Markley had a double and two RBI.

At Kinmundy

Tuscola tallied a 7-1 victory over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Monday.

Tuscola took a 2-0 first inning lead. The Hatchets lone run came in the sixth.

Windsor/Stew-Stras had four hits led by Collin Ohnesoge with two singles.
