Using hot bats, Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg pounded out 20 hits in throttling Central A&M 22-9 in baseball action Wednesday.

The Hatchets had eight extra base hits in the contest including home runs by Nic Hutchinson, Dalton Armes and Chase Thies. Hutchinson added a double and had five RBI while Armes added a single and had two RBI and Thies a single and two RBI.

Other extra base hits were Christian Kessler with a single, double and four RBI, Josh Overbeck a single, triple and three RBI, Beau Bennett two singles, a double and five RBI, Collin Ohnesorge two singles, a double and two RBI and Derek Moshenrose three singles.

Moshenrose picked up the pitching win, going three innings, allowing nine hits, no walks and striking out four. Overbeck came on in the fourth to go three innings, allowing one hit, no walks and striking out two.

Windsor/Stew-Stras improves to 9-2 on the season.

Oblong edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead then scored two runs over the next four innings to blank Neoga 9-0 Wednesday.

Neoga had two hits, singles by Yurs and Hill. The Indians drop to 3-7 on the season.

Cumberland edged Villa Grove-Heritage 2-1 in action Wednesday.

The Pirates trailed VGH 1-0 in the top of the fifth but came back in the bottom of the frame to score two runs and hold on for the win.

Kanizer pitched a four-hitter with 13 strikeouts. Cutts had a single and drove in both runs for the Pirates.
