The Teutopolis Wooden Shoes have reached the Final Four at the Class 2A State Junior High Baseball Tournament.

Teutopolis posted a 4-3 win over Chillicothe to advance to semi-final action at 10am Saturday. If Teutopolis wins that 10am game, they would play at 4:30pm Saturday for the state championship. If they lose the 10am game, they would play at 2:30pm Saturday for third place.

The Shoes scored all four of their runs in the first inning and made it stand up, although Chillicothe made it interesting, scoring once in the second and twice in the third to pull within 4-3, but they could get no closer.

Hayden Ruholl got the win for Teutopolis, going six innings and allowing the three runs on just two hits and two walks while striking out 11. Evan Addis pitched the seventh, striking out the side to get the save.

Teutopolis had hits from Derek Konkel, Evan Wermert, Matthew Deters and Sam Bushur with Bushur getting a double. Deters drove in two runs, while Konkel also picked up a RBI.

Teutopolis improved to 15-6 with the win in action at Eastside Centre in East Peoria.
