Dieterich and Teutopolis State Bound in Jr. High Baseball

Teutopolis defeated Cumberland 10-0 in AA Jr. High sectional championship action Saturday. The win propels Teutopolis (14-6) to state tournament action Friday morning at 10am against Chillicothe at the Eastside Centre in East Peoria. 

Neither team scored until the fifth inning when T-town broke loose with five runs then finished out with five more in the sixth.

Ruholl banged out a double and drove in two runs for the Shoes while Bushur had two singles and an RBI. Konkel had no hits but had three RBI.

Ruholl pitched the one-hitter with three walks and seven strikeouts.

Dieterich Jr. High will also be making the trip to the Eastside Centre in East Peoria to compete in the class A state tournament on Friday morning. Dieterich (14-5) will take on Pawnee at 9:30am after claiming the Sectional Championship with a 8-3 victory over Okaw Valley Saturday. 

Okaw Valley couldn't get anything gong as Dalton Will held the squad hitless over three innings, allowng no earned runs, walked two and struck out three. Mattehw Hunzinger got the win allowing three runs over fofur innings. He struck out six, walked one and surrendered two hits.

Dieterich never trailed after scoring one run in the first. The squad pushed across three runs in both the fifth and sixth innings. Hunzinger hit an RBI double bringing home Will. Bryce Budde had a single that scored Cooper Bridges in the sixth. That was followed up by Wills' double, plating Budde.
