Effingham St. Anthony pounded Neoga in high school baseball action Monday evening at Paul Smith Field, 13-0 in five innings.

The Bulldogs tallied four runs in the second inning, scored one in the third, then brought home five in the fourth and ended the game in the fifth with three more.

Brandon Puckett threw a two-hitter with two walks and eight strikeouts.

St. Anthony had 12 hits in the contest led by Greg Utz with a single, double and three RBI, Puckett with two singles and an RBI and Bryson Wall wtih two singles.

Caleb Hill and Moore had a single each for Altamont. The game was a National Trail Conference contest. The Indians fall to 4-2 in the conference, 4-3 overall.

At Odin

Teutopolis trailed Odin 1-0 for an inning, then tied in the score in the second then pushed into high gear with an 11-run third and an 11-run fifth for a 25-1 trouncing. The game ended in the fifth.

The Wooden Shoes banged out 21 hits in the contest led by Jackson Goeckner with three singles and two RBI, Bueker with a single, double, triple and an RBI, Ethyn Dust a single, double and three RBI, Cody Jansen with a single, home run and four RBI, Jared Bloemer with two singles and an RBI, Evan Althoff with a single, double and three RBI and Jason Kenter with a solo home run.

Brant Bueker picked up the pitching win, going three innings, allowing one hit, one walk and striking out three. Clint Weber threw two innings, allowing two hits, one walk and striking out two.

Coach Justin Fleener's crew is now 15-1 on the season. T-town plays host to Cisne today.

Brownstown/St. Elmo had an 11-run third inning and blanked Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 12-0 in five innings in opening play of the Egyptian-Illini Conference Tournament Monday.

Nate Philpot threw a two-hitter with no walks and seven strikeouts.

Philpot had two singles and drove in two runs. Landon Feezel had a double and two RBI, Dalton Denton a double and an RBI, Hunter Strauch a double and two RBI and Wade Ireland two singles.

BSE improves to 4-6.

Dieterich edged out to a 2-0 second inning lead then had a four-run third for a 6-4 win over Webber Township (Bluford).

Both teams had six hits. The Movin' Maroons were led by Cole Niebrugge with two singles and an RBI and Charlie Thoele with a double, triple and three RBI.

Briar Schmidt picked up the pitching win, going four innings, allowing four hits, four walks and striking out two.

At Kinmundy

South Central edged Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 2-1 in eight innings Monday.

WSS held a 1-0 first inning lead but that didn't last long as South Central tied in the second. The two teams then went scoreless over the next five innings before South Central pulled out the victory in the bottom of the eighth.

Blomberg hit a solo home run while Markley had a single and drove in the other run for the Cougars. Geiler threw a four-hitter with three walks and eight strikeouts.

Hutchinson was the tough-luck loser, going seven innings, allowing three hits, two walks and striking out 12. Overbeck pitched one inning, allowing one hit.

WSS was led by Moschenrose with two singles.
