Effingham St. Anthony stepped out to a 7-0 first inning lead on Brownstown/St. Elmo and went on for an 11-1 win in five innings of baseball Tuesday.

Brandon Puckett picked up the pitching win on a four-hitter with three walks and six strikeouts.

Greg Utz, Ethan Green, Joseph Kabbes and Adam Levitt had a single each for the Bulldogs. Utz drove in three runs and Greene had two RBI.

BSE was led by Rocky Himes with two singles.

At Effingham

At Lousiville

North Clay (Louisville) took a 4-0 first inning lead. Altamont came back with two runs in the top of the fifth but the Cardinals tallied one more in the bottom of the inning for a 5-2 win.

Jones had a single and double for the winners while VanDyke had a double and an RBI.

Whitt led Altamont with two singles, a double and two RBI.

At Lousiville

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg edged Neoga 2-1. WSS scored both runs in the first inning.

Neoga came back with a run in the fifth but couldn't make up that opening inning deficit. Nick Hutchinson picked up the pitching win allowing three hits, three walks and striking out nine.

Neoga drops to 0-2.

At Windsor
